The San Gorgonio Wind Farm, just outside Palm Springs, has provided renewable energy for Southern California since the 1980's. The wind farm's size is decreasing, as older turbines are replaced with more efficient units that produce more energy per turbine. This reduces the overall footprint of the farm, resulting in a reduced impact on the landscape.
